Welcome to Exploring Music with Gabby Sincraugh!
Hello everyone! My name is Gabby Sincraugh, and I am very excited to explore music with all of you this Semester. Music for me has always been my comfort, something that always calms me no matter the situation. Growing up, my parents always played music, and I have always listened to a diverse amount of music. My favorite is Southern Rock, Country, Folk, and Indie, though I do love most as long as it's not Hard Rock.
I have grown up playing many different instruments. Throughout my eighteen years of life, I have played six different instruments. I grew up in Washington State, and the weather is rough throughout fall and winter. I spent my time in the house playing piano and guitar. When I got into fourth grade, I picked up the clarinet and bells and played throughout my Senior Year of high school. I enjoy attending concerts and listening to music on my record player when I am not physically playing an instrument! During COVID, I picked up the ukulele and banjo, which was really fun to add to the musical instrument collection!
As I have grown older, my love for music has grown as well. I love it when I play and listen to music; I can connect at a deeper level and feel my true emotions. When I have gone through lots of family deaths the last couple of years, music has been holding me up. I am forever grateful for music and want to continue to share my passion for it. Though I play many different instruments, my two favorites are piano and guitar. I have taken lessons for both of those instruments throughout the last eight years, and I still continue to take guitar lessons.
Throughout this blog, I want to continue to share my love for music with all of you! Recently, I have been into The Lumineers with the cooler temperatures finally coming to Nevada! The song I chose to share with you guys today is Stubborn Love - The Lumineers

I also really enjoy the Lumineers! Music is a passion of mine and I love that you’re sharing it with everyone! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou and I have some things in common. This year I lost 2 family members and a friend. Music has been such a help. "Just Breath" by Pearl Jam has been very helpful for me. I play the ukulele. I love the "new folk" sound of the Lumineers and similar groups.
ReplyDeleteWow, I loved the bit about how listening and playing music has grown your depth in music. Even though I do not play an instrument I can definitely see how my taste in music has evolved.
ReplyDeleteHi Gabby! I relate a lot to your story because music was also pinnacle in my childhood. It has always been a unifying factor for my family, and to this day it brings me so much comfort. Great job on your post!
ReplyDeleteI'm fascinated by the variety of instruments you play. Which of them would you say you currently play the most? I too have used music as a way to uplift me in times where I feel down, and have found it always does the trick.
ReplyDeleteI love to play the piano and guitar the most!!
